The Financial Empowerment Center at the Greater Washington Urban League has partnered with the Federal Trade Commission to bring you the "Get Woke and Avoid COVID-19 Scams" information webinar. During this virtual event you will learn how to protect your money, identity and other personal information from scammers who are taking advantage of the COVID-19 crisis. You'll get valuable information on how to identify, avoid, and report scams related to COVID-19.
Some of the most common scams and other topics we will discuss are:
- Products and “potions”
- Relief payments
- Economic impact
- General scam prevention (including Medicare/Medicaid scams and government imposters)
- Reporting scams to the FTC
